Despondency Act 3: Earth Disheveled

Earth holding
a candlelight vigil
above its head,
love unwell –
humanity laughed
karma wink tragedy.

    1. Thank you, Basilike.

That is the reflection I captured while my mood was at its lowest. I needed to feel and sense what earth is feeling at the moment. Consider me as a messenger of earth for writing this short poem.

        1. Plenty of more Despondency Act 4 next Monday. 🙂

So far, I feel people are being connected and relate to these short meanings.

My good friend and I, are thinking of using my words as a graffiti poem art.
We’re still in talks but will see what happens.

  1. Superbly crafted piece. Deep reflections! What an insightful verse, Charlie. You have the gift of discernment and you put the right words in their rightful place.
It definitely is a gripping poem. A yet another fav .

    1. Thank you, Yassy.

My emotions are all over the place at the moment so I felt this one in particular.
It’s really not up to me and decide judgement on humans…I’m just the messenger of earth herself who is telling anyone who read this to heed her warnings and they have a chance to take care of our planet.

More to come…Despondency Act 4 will be up Monday. 🙂

      1. You are welcome, Charlie.
I think you put your emotions to proper use, if I may say so, by expressing what the citizens of Mother Earth need to hear and heed.
Well, I really don’t want to judge but I am not optimistic about anything or anybody , people who run our planet.

        Truly , despondent!

          1. Yup, the world is indeed on edge , it’s like sitting on the edge of a precipice watch ourselves going down , nothing to hold on to , almost doomsday !

  2. Brilliantly put Charlie,
We light the candle, reminding ourselves of our bad choices, paying homage to our Earth Mother in one hand, while in the other we hold the knife..
The flame flickers as the wax melts and burns..
And ‘Humanity laughed’ But Gaia will have the last one.. For she will renew, while humanity will be forgotten..

So much thought held within these few lines Charlie. I am enjoying your poetry my friend..
I hope to read much more upon my return, I am taking a short break to reconnect with Mother Gaia as I dip my feet into her ocean..
Take care my friend.. Much love 🙂

    1. Yes to everything you said.

That is exactly what how I am feeling at moment. When I wrote this…I felt a lot of things, anger at humanity, confused, & I cried because we are the last remaining species on earth.

We are not caring enough because humans depend too much on theories and one way thinking.

The new direction of poetry is called: Despondency series. There’s more that I need to say in my next upcoming posts. 🙂

      1. I look forward Charlie, I am away from Friday onwards but will look forward to catching up with you on my return.. Tears.. I have shed plenty, and I too have more to write on my return in my Change within our Selves series.. I have a short scheduled post for Sunday. 🙂 with interesting views again from Gregg Braden..
More of us are now feeling the call to wake us up to ourselves… We are opening up our throat chakra’s 😀
        Take care my friend 😀

          1. I am half way composing it.. but I have had so much to do this week, and will not get chance to be on my computer much tomorrow, So hence the fill in post..
Many thanks for your wonderful support.. WE are the Ones we have been waiting for.. 😉
Take good care Charlie… Much love..

  3. Might as well have the vigil, now! Once Karma gets through with us, we won’t be here to hold a candle to anything anymore. Seems your followers are loving your Om poems, a lot!

Yesterday there was a report that came out. It said 1 million species of flora and fauna are in danger of becoming endangered. Yikes!

  4. That you had to dig at your lowest makes for poetry that resonates, Charlie.
I’m hoping the karma is ill-placed and that it will turn…

  5. You’ve distilled the dilemma
    of modern man’s futile endeavour
with an all consuming collective fear
    as we devour the biosphere
    and complain about the weather

    “So raise the candles high
‘Cause if you don’t we could
    stay black against the night
    Oh, raise them higher again
And if you do we could
    stay dry against the rain.”
    ~ Melanie Safka

      1. I loved it and had a similar experience. I had to pick up the pen and write. As if the earth was weeping, that’s what I felt inside.
        Love the result Charlie

  6. The title of your poem really grabbed my attention. I could not imagine a time Mother Earth could be in such a state but I guess it is coming. Well said Charlie.
