Earth Eyes Drought in Ache

America,
belly boiling.
Justice
heart
congested
noise.
Peaceful
vigils
mourned.

*Note: This poem broke my fucking heart!
What has been happening before history keeps repeating itself.
The 4 police officers involved in the death of George Floyd,
should face life in prison without parole.
The poem speaks for itself and I believe we are all angry.

    1. Thank you, Bojana.

The poem took me a long time to write and I was feeling stressed out and thought at one point felt a little bit of a panic attack. I let out all my emotions to my girlfriend and she understood completely.

I needed to say something and the poem itself is felt throughout the planet.

        1. You are right.

This took me almost 2 weeks. There was a point where giving up on the project meant I was at my lowest in energy and the anxiety within started building up.

Thanks to my girlfriend who helped me out and figured out the full poem of what it needed to speak.

I don’t know how anyone does it with writing short poems. It’s difficult.

  1. Greetings Charlie and nice work but don’t forget the officers killed during the rioting and mayhem created by mobs of thugs and hooligans out there in the US who also vandalise statutes and destroy public property with immunity. All the best my friend

    1. I haven’t forgotten.

I don’t agree with the loitering or vandalism or destruction of public property either.

This whole staying at home quarantine has fueled anxiety and frustration and anger all around the world.

I don’t want to see anyone hating on each other or hurting people. I just want everyone to get along and find love and friendship in the end.

The poem I wrote really broke me inside and seeing this world go in complete chaos its sadden and crazy.

      1. I understand Charlie. I know that as the artist that you are, you have more feelings that are very much in tune with the events that are going on. I think that if there were something really to protest about, things would be different, but I see this…of course from Europe…as random hatred and violence towards the police and now towards history and that cannot be allowed to happen. I hope all come to their senses. Take good care my friend and all the best,
        Francisco

      1. Charlie, I cannot make the video work, but I think I know what you are talking about. Very relevant indeed.
Oh, centers of power. When they kill others they call the dead “collateral damage.” When anybody belonging to a center of power is touched (don’t take me wrong every death is regrettable and we should stop killing each other) they call that hooliganism. This is fascist and communist textbook. People who rose against Communism in Eastern Europe were called hooligans too. In some cases those people stood empty handed – unarmed – in front of the police and the military. They were perforated by bullets and crashed by tanks.
Anyway, it’s systemic, Charlie. Any change in the structure of a system is very difficult. One needs to change the type of interaction among the system’s units: new rules, new procedures. One needs to diminish if not eradicate the power differentials between various units (read here various ethnic groups).
God help us all to understand that and work together for a better and juster society.

        1. You’ve made me remember of this:

“From time to time our national history has been marred by forgetfulness of the Jeffersonian principle that restraint is at the heart of liberty. In 1789 the Federalists adopted Alien and Sedition Acts in a shabby political effort to isolate the Republic from the world and to punish political criticism as seditious libel. In 1865 the Radical Republicans sought to snare private conscience in a web of oaths and affirmations of loyalty. Spokesmen for the South did service for the Nation in resisting the petty tyranny of distrustful vengeance. In the 1920’s the Attorney General of the United States degraded his office by hunting political radicals as if they were Salem witches. The Nation’s only gain from his efforts were the classic dissents of Holmes and Brandeis.

In our own times, the old blunt instruments have again been put to work. The States have followed in the footsteps of the Federalists and have put Alien and Sedition Acts upon their statute books. An epidemic of loyalty oaths has spread across the Nation until no town or village seems to feel secure until its servants have purged themselves of all suspicion of non-conformity by swearing to their political cleanliness.

Those who love the twilight speak as if public education must be training in conformity, and government support of science be public aid of caution.

We have also seen a sharpening and refinement of abusive power. The legislative investigation, designed and often exercised for the achievement of high ends, has too frequently been used by the Nation and the States as a means for effecting the disgrace and degradation of private persons. Unscrupulous demagogues have used the power to investigate as tyrants of an earlier day used the bill of attainder.

The architects of fear have converted a wholesome law against conspiracy into an instrument for making association a crime. Pretending to fear government they have asked government to outlaw private protest. They glorify “togetherness” when it is theirs, and call it conspiracy when it is that of others.

In listing these abuses I do not mean to condemn our central effort to protect the Nation’s security. The dangers that surround us have been very great, and many of our measures of vigilance have ample justification. Yet there are few among us who do not share a portion of the blame for not recognizing soon enough the dark tendency towards excess of caution.”
          ― John F. Kennedy

        1. I read everything that happen in ‘Hungary 1956’. It seems in a sense man or history is repeating itself in a different set of circumstance the same but different of course. I’m connecting the dots and the label of hooligans yep…our president has called it that if I’m not mistaken.

Thank you for all this information.

    1. Yes we do. My anxiety got the best of me and been sensing a bit of a panic attack a couple of times. I had to write what the world was feeling and use that as my release of emotion. I cried whatever I was feeling and my girlfriend was there to help me out and get through my anxiety.

I’m currently taking organic ‘ashwagandha’ pills to ease my stress. It’s working.

How have you been my friend? I’ll be stopping by to read your work. 🙂

  2. This racist killing has triggered intense discussion all over the world, also here. The last twenty years, have been years of deteriorating racism, imo. Maybe we’ve reached a turning point now.

      1. It’s an open door, but, there’s only one answer: Only harbouring at least #some love in ourselves can make us look at others in a positive way. And, to name a second: keep talking about what went wrong, or right.

  3. POOR WHITE HOUND DOG
    ( . . . with a badge to kill)

    Poor white hound dog
    Hold on, hold on, yeah
    Gonna screw him down,
    way underground
    Look at his eyes
    grey as brown
    Hangin’ a white dog
    A whoo Ooh
    Black cat, all the time
    hold his tongue, oh

They’ll use a pair of clubs to beat the spades
With poetry I paint the pictures that hit
More like the murals that fit
      Don’t turn away
      Get in front of it

Brotha, did ya forget ya name?
Did ya lose it on the wall
      Playin’ tic-tac-toe?

      Yo, check the diagonal
      Three brothers gone
      Come on
Doesn’t that make it three in a row?
      Anger is a gift

      Come on!

          1. Night descends as the sun’s light ends
And black comes back, to blend again
And with the death of the sun
            Night and blackness become one
            Blackness being you
Peeping through the red, the white, and the blue
Dreaming of bars, black civilizations that once flourished and grew
HEY! – WAKE UP, NIGGERS or y’all through!
Drowning in the puddle of the white man’s spit
As you pause for some drawers in the midst of shit
And ain’t got nothing to save your funky-ass with!
You cool, fool – sipping on a menthol cigarette ’round midnight
Rapping about how the Big Apple is outta sight
When you ain’t never had a bite
Who are you fooling? Me, you
Wake up, niggers or ya ALL through!
In Uptown, two roaches are drowning in each other’s piss
In Downtown, interracial lovers secretly kiss
While junkies are dreaming of total bliss
Somewhere in the atmosphere, far away from here
            Beyond realms of white dimensions
            Gathered by suppressed intentions
As their CRIES, cries, cries go unrecognized
Except by their keeper, the Grim Reaper
“SAVE ME!, ” a carnity shout, as the lights go out
Cause you ain’t paid your electric bill
And the rats and roaches move on in for the kill
As your lips struggle the Grain, that last drought from the wine bottle
And you roll snake eyes, never to realizing that you BLEW
WAKE up, niggers or you’re all through!
Sitting in the corner with your minds tied to your behinds
Bona fide members of Niggers Anonymous
Never knowing which way you’re going – pimping off life
Turning tricks to slick dicks, with candy asses
“All masses will be held tomorrow morning for the Late Great black maaaaaaan… ”
            (Ahhhhhhh-meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen…)
YOU NIGGERS UNDERSTAND?! UP AGAINST THE WALL
Black male and farmers, are a-blow you away
And you’ll never live to see the light of day
And the nightstick, the nightstick, it glides GRACEFULLY upside yo’ head
That’s right, brothers and sisters, YOU living dead
When the cock crows, and the night goes
And it saves your ass in the nick of time
As you wake up and you start to find
Yourself, laying up in bed – scratching your ass and head
Trying to remember from where you recall this Vermeer nightmare
That always leave you feeling blue
But you still can’t place The Man’s face, as hard as you try to
HEY! – WAKE UP, NIGGERS OR WE ALL THROUGH!

              Huh!
Yeah, we’re comin’ back in with another “Bombtrack”
Think ya know it’s all of that, HUH!

              Yeah…
              Know your enemy!
              Come on!

Born with insight and a raised fist
A witness to the slit wrist
              As we, move into ’92
Still in a room without a view
Ya got to know, ya got to know
That when I say go, go, go!
              Amp up and amplify
Defy, I’m a brother with a furious mind
              Action must be taken
We don’t need the key, we’ll break in

              Something must be done
About vengeance, a badge and a gun
Cause I’ll rip the mic, rip the stage, rip the system
I was born to Rage Against ’em!
Fist in ya face in the place and I’ll drop the style clearly…
              Know your enemy!

              Know your enemy!

              Yeah!
Hey yo, and get with this… ugh!

              Word, is, born!
Fight the war, FUCK the norm!
              Now I got no patience
              So sick of complacence
              With the D, the E, the F, the I, the A, the N, the C, the E
Mind of a revolutionary, so clear the lane
The finger to the land of the chains
WHAT?! The “land of the free?”
Whoever told you that is your enemy!
              Now something must be done
About vengeance, a badge and a gun
Cause I’ll rip the mic, rip the stage, rip the system
I was born to Rage Against ’em!
              Now action must be taken
We don’t need the key, we’ll BREAK IN!!

              I’ve got no patience now…
              So sick of complacence, now…
              I’ve got no patience, now…
              So sick of complacence now..
Sick of, sick of, sick of, sick of…you..
              Time…has…come…to…PAY!!!
              Know your enemy!

              Come on!
              Yes, I know my enemies!
They’re the teachers who taught me to fight me!
              Compromise! Conformity! Assimilation! Submission!
              Ignorance! Hypocrisy! Brutality! The elite!
All of which are American dreams!

I love the title, it’s perfect. I hope you are well my friend, I’ve missed you ☮️☯️

    1. Mad World by gary jules is a perfect reminder of where our world is at and facing injustice.

The heart needed to release the pain and frustration this world is feeling.

Chose the latter, it don’t matter, it ain’t suicide
And if the news say it was that’s a goddamn lie
I can’t let the pigs kill me, I got too much pride
And I meant it when I said it, never take me alive

      [Verse 5: El-P]
I got the Grand Nat runnin’ in the alley outside
Yo Mike run like you hungry and get your ass in the ride
I’d rather have and not need you than watch your rotten demise
And you still owe me for them Nikes, you do not get to just die
You try to fuck with my brother, you get the bastard surprise
And that’s more honest than your whole life in a fraction of time
I didn’t get my degree in how to smoke weed ’till I’m blind
So you could ruin my high, Jewel Runner, do and you’re bye

      [Verse 6: Killer Mike]
My brother made a point so out the back door I’ma slide
I’m chubby, husky, thighs rubbing, fuckin’ up my Levi’s
The crooked copper got the proper, I put lead in his eye
Plus we heard he murdered a black child so none of us cry

      [Outro: Killer Mike with El-P]
Yankee and the brave are here
      Everybody hit the deck
      We don’t mean no harm
But we truly mean all the disrespect (Four)

        1. Yes. I’ve watched the new ‘Star Wars’ movie. I have gotten that a lot. My girlfriend tells me that I look like him a lot. 🙂 Also, I’m a big fan of Adam driver as an actor and I love Kylo ren. hahahahaha!!!

  7. Charlie it is horrific what happened to George & the anarchy that is happening in the U.S.A .
    People tearing down statues!

A vigil is meant to inspire hope and peace
Not this violence abd terror that divides the people even more.
Big hugs to you. Stay safe

    1. Thank you, Daisy.

Yes, a lot is happening and the anger is just the beginning. I feel it will get much worse. Who knows.

You are right…peace and hope is what the world needs right now. We should not be divided. Trump is making things worse and he’s not helping at all. He is an instigator of a fucked up president.

      Bless you my friend.

  8. This absolutely hits the mark my friend, you are on point! I never wonder why it rains so much, I wouldn’t question why the Earth cries, no Justice no Peace….which equals no understanding. Powerful lines you spilled, such emotion behind it…I couldn’t have written this with a pencil for the lead would have kept breaking. The first line is a symbolic statement of how two sided the scales of Justice is and how it is viewed which is also a horrible cast of eye from humanity, what a step backwards….it is indeed aching. And the last line…Peaceful protest mourned, so so true, for one such as myself who supported the protest but was against the opportunistic portraying ones, the ones that was genuine was looked at as nothing more than a mob gathering by some which is plain sad because for those, they missed the real reason and will never understand. Justice isn’t the only thing that is blind. But you my friend can see very well with this prolific post. I applaud you.

    1. Bless you my friend. Glad you felt the depth of the short poem and what is speaks to the world and how we are all feeling it. Especially, earth herself.

My heart broke and I needed to express what the whole world was feeling. 🙂

  9. This was meant to bring about Anger and Division dear Charlie, and it triggered alot of us into that same anger…
    I was not immune…
My post All lives matter perhaps sums up my own feelings on what is happening on a global scale right now, and how our energy, and yes those actions of the past keep on repeating over and over again… Because we are kept within this loop of separateness, and labels…

It is a long held chess game of manoeuvres to confuse, and open wounds,.. Here we had the Windrush episode here in the UK, brought to light again in the light of recent events you spoke of above.. Here is a link if you haven’t heard of Windrush before https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windrush_scandal

The collective now once again feeling the wounds of the past, as people take sides… We are in a Consciousness battle where everything is being driven to Divide and Conquer…
May we open our eyes in Unity and see ourselves as ONE… ALL of us dwelling within our Mother Earth as Humans…
Colour is but a pigment…. What is in our Hearts is what makes us who we are…

My heart aches as much as yours does Charlie… and my own Tears spill over many times seeing the injustice, the violence, and the hate we as humans project out to others..

Yes… my own eyes have become dry, with the tears shed… I know the ache you speak Charlie, I really do my friend…

Your poem is short.. But HITS home the truth of your heart..

Love and Blessings to you my friend… Stay strong… stand in the middle ground of Love….
    ❤ 💖💚🙏

  10. You have said a lot with very few words, dear Charlie!
I admire you, for this heartfelt, and simple sincerity.
    Please take care!
(I was not able to comment on many blogs for a couple of weeks. Yours was one, but now WP has fixed the issue!)

    1. Thank you, Resa.

I felt as many around the world, broken from the inside. I needed to say something and the injustice that is taking place is anger and we all around the globe want justice.

I’m glad WP fixed the issue. Miss you my friend. Hope in the future you can paint this words of mine on your door. I know people will get the message right away. 🙂
